Srixon has enjoyed incredible success over the course of the last several years with its two premium golf balls, the Z-Star and Z-Star XV. Since being launched in 2008, Z-Star series golf balls have accounted for more than 450 wins on professional tours around the world, including more than 225 in the last three years alone. Despite all of that success, Srixon has continued to make research-and-development advancements in an effort to deliver even better performance from each ball. The fifth generation of the Z-Star and Z-Star XV has just been released by Srixon, and significant improvements having been made to each. In terms of the new Z-Star, its Energetic Gradient Growth Core features a slightly lower compression, which gives players a softer feel on all shots and improved launch conditions off the tee for more distance. Additionally, the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern has been made more aerodynamic to improve flight conditions for more consistent distance and enhanced control. Also back for the Z-Star golf ball is third generation Spin Skin Technology, as the coating has been made softer and more elastic to improve feel and greenside spin.
The Srixon Q-STAR has long been a unique offering in its category, as it’s a durable, two-piece golf ball that offers players more spin and greenside control than can often be found in balls that compete in the same space. The new, fourth generation of the Q-STAR is offering enhanced performance when compared to its predecessor, as it has a lower-compression core to improve overall feel and reduce spin off the driver for improved distance. It also features third-generation Spin Skin coating to produce more spin around the greens. Additionally, a new 338 Speed Dimple Pattern has been implemented to reduce drag and make the new Q-STAR more aerodynamic and even more stable in the wind. Said Srixon Senior Product Manager Michael Ross of the new ball: “The Q-STAR’s built-in tour technologies should help golfers see great performance in every aspect of their golf game. This is the golf ball for players who seek maximum playability from a more durable, two-piece design.”
Q-Star golf balls have been extremely popular for the last several years, but Srixon wanted to build on the franchise from a performance standpoint. More specifically, it wanted to develop a golf ball that would give golfers with more modest swing speeds the same performance that higher compression Tour balls offer on full shots without having to sacrifice greenside spin and control. And Srixon believes it has accomplished that goal with the brand new Q-Star Tour golf ball. A three-piece ball with a soft urethane cover and a compression of 75, the Q-Star offers exceptional feel on all shots, as well as enhanced greenside spin. The cover helps promote spin as does Srixon’s proprietary Spin Skin coating, which helps create more friction at impact. That said, the Q-Star still delivers impressive distance on full shots, most notably off the tee, thanks to its Energetic Gradient Growth Core, which has been designed for maximum energy transfer. Additionally, an aerodynamic 324 dimple pattern enables a consistent ball flight, even in windy conditions.
Srixon introduces the 10th generation of the Soft Feel golf balls! They have been designed for incredible distance and even softer feel, made with a softer cover and lower compression core. This ball has better feel on shots all over the golf course, increased spin around the greens and accuracy from the tee to green.
